PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS THE PART 53 RISK-INFORMED, TECHNOLOGY-INCLUSIVE REGULATORY FRAMEWORK FOR ADVANCED REACTORS RULEMAKING - 10 CFR PART 26, FITNESS FOR DUTY PROGRAMS Date(s) and Time(s): January 06, 2022, 01:00 PM to 05:00 PM ET Location: Webinar Category: This is a Comment-Gathering Meeting. The purpose of this meeting is for NRC staff to meet directly with individuals to receive comments from participants on specific NRC decisions and actions to ensure that NRC staff understands their views and concerns.

Purpose:

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff is hosting a topical webinar to provide an opportunity for external stakeholders and the NRC staff to exchange information on the NRCs development of specific sections of the Part 53 preliminary proposed rule language for advanced nuclear reactors. The NRC staff will have a discussion on the preliminary proposed rule language for changes to 10 CFR Part 26, Fitness for Duty Programs.

To support the discussion of the preliminary proposed rule language, the NRC staff has provided a separate Discussion Table for these sections. This document is available in ADAMS under accession number ML21148A173. Other released iterations of preliminary proposed rule language are identified on the NRC website, on regulations.gov website, and in an ADAMS package under accession number ML20289A534.

This meeting provides an opportunity for the NRC staff to hear insights and answer questions from the public about the Part 53 rulemaking effort.
