- l. This letter requests withdrawal of the change proposed for Bases page B 3/4 2-2 from L L cense Amendment Request Nos. lA-262 and 2A-135, submitted by letter L-98-238 dated December 24, 1998. The proposed amendment requested modification of applicable specifications and Bases by removing the rod position deviation monitor, rod insertion limit monitor, axial flux difference (AFD) monitor and quadrant power tilt ratio (QPTR) monitor. The AFD and QPTR monitor requirements will be maintained in the 1 Licensing Requirements Manual. The NRC Project Manager provided verbal L
. notification.that the reviewer determined there is no need to delete the paragraph that was proposed to be deleted from Bases page B 3/4 2-2 for both units. This paragraph describes the operation of the AFD monitor, and the NRC has determined that nothing is being changed to require removal of this paragraph. Following additional review,
" _ Duquesne Light Company has confinned that maintaining this paragraph in the Bases will be consistent with the operation of the AFD monitor following approval of this amendment. This paragraph will then remain in the TS Bases as is; therefore, withdrawal oJpage B 3/4 2-2 from the proposed amendment is requested.
