! 475 Allendale Road King of Prussia, Pennsylvania 19406

Dear Mr. Miller:

Enclosed is a copy of the final report for the April 7-9,1998; May 6, 1998; and May 19-21, 1998, ingestion exposure pathway exercise of the offsite radiological emergency response plans site-specific for the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station

! (PBAPS). This report addresses the evaluation of the plans and preparedness for the 50-mile Emergency Planning Zone. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and Counties fully' participated in i this exercise. The State of Maryland was granted-credit for participation in the September 16-18, 1997, Calvert Cliffs ingestion exercise, but the Maryland Counties fully

participated in the PBAPS exercise. The final exercise report l was prepared by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA),

! Region III staff. A copy of the report will also be provided j to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and State of Maryland.

No Deficiencies were identified during this exercise.

Ho..ever, eight Areas Requiring Corrective Action were identified. FEMA Region III staff will monitor the status of the corrective actions.

Based on the results of the 1998 PBAPS exercises, FEMA finds that the offsite radiological emergency response plans and

preparedness for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the l

State of Maryland and the affected local jurisdictions are adequate to protect the public health and safety in the event of a radiological emergency at the site.

If you have any questions, please contact Kevin Koob,

! Chairperson, Regional Assistance Committee, at (215) 931-5576.

Sincerely, MIv k -
