l l In a telephone conversation on September 24,1998, Mr. Dave Lange, Senior Training Advisor, and Mr. Michael Bielby, Region lli NRC Examiner, made arrangements for the NRC to inspect

! the licensed operator requalification program at the Davis Besse Nuclear Power Station. The l inspection is planned for the week of November 16,1998, which coincides with your regularly scheduled requalification examination cycle. The staff at your facility should prepare and conduct the requalification examinations in accordance with your NRC-approved requalification program.

! In accordance with 10 CFR 55.59(c), the NRC may request facility licensees to submit their l comprehensive requalification written examinations or annual operating tests as necessary to 1 support the NRC's inspection program needs. Mr. Lange has been advised of this request and l provided with the name and address of the NRC lead inspector assigned to this inspection.
