Location of Meeting: Sheraton - Valley Forge First Avenue King of Prussia, PA 19406 Purpose of Meeting: The American Nuclear Society, in conjunction with the NRC, will conduct a Utility /NRC Interface Workshop in King of .
Prussia, Pennsylvania, on September 9 and 10,1998. The i purpose of this workshop is to explore NRC and industry perspectives on regulatory interface issues. The workshop will provide an environment for candid exchange of ideas and concerns through working group sessions in two broad areas:
(1) Conduct of Inspections and Communications of Inspection Findings, and (2) Enforcement. The status of broader NRC efforts to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of its '
regulatory oversight activities (e.g., revision of NRC performance assessment processes) will also be reviewed.
The General Co-Chairmen for the workshop are Hubert J.
Miller, Regional Administrator, Region I, and Gerald R. Rainey, President and Chief Nuclear Officer, PECO. The workshop is open for public observation.
