Schedule for Installing Improved Fire Protection System ._
In Reference (b) Vermont Yankee reported details of the Switchgear Room CO2 system l modifications being performed at the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station. Vermont I Yankee informed the NRC that following completion of testing, issuance of procedure revisions l
and training of personnel, the new low pressure CO2 system would be declared functional.
Vermont Yankee expected these activities to be completed by February 7,1997.
In Reference (c), Vermont Yankee reported that operator training and testing were proceeding on schedule. However, in the conduct of these activities, concems were identified which will require additional procedural improvements. Vermont Yankee believes these improvements are sufficiently important to revise our previous!y documented completion schedule. Vennont )
.; Yankee now expects the new low pre:sure CO2 system to be functional by March 7,1997. In 4 the interim, Technical Specification compensatory measures remain in place.
