SUBJECT:

ANNUAL RADIOACTIVE EFFLUENT RELEASE REPORT Gentlemen: i I

Attached please find the Annual Radioactive Effluent Release Report for the Fort St. Vrain Nuclear Station.

This report covers the period January 1, 1996, through December 31, i 1996, as well as the period January 1, 1997, through March 31, I 1997, and is submitted pursuant to Section 5.5.2 of the Fort St.  ;

Vrain Decommissioning Technical Specifications (DTS). l l

All effluent releases were complete as of July 3, 1996. Reports on l activities after that date reflect disposal of solid waste from the site and from processors. l This report also includes results of the analysis of water collected from the Reactor Building Sump on December 9, 1996, l following completion of all liquid radioactive effluent releases. I The results demonstrate that the Environmental Lower Limits of Detection (LLD) were met (copy attached).

As all liquid and gaseous radioactive waste releases and solid radioactive waste shipments from the Fort St. Vrain Nuclear Station j have now been completed, this report represents the final Annual l Radioactive Effluent Release Report for Docket No. 50-267. If any additional information is identified, this final report will be supplemented at that time.
