LIMERICK GENERATING STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 - ONSITE DISPOSAL OF CONTAMINATED MATERIAL PURSUANT TO 10 CFR 20.2002 SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATI0M (TAC NOS. M92295 AND M92296)

Dear Mr. Hunger:

In a letter dated July 10, 1996, the NRC approved your request to dispose contaminated material (soil, sediment, and sludges) on the Limerick Generating Station site, pursuant to 10 CFR 20.2002, based on the staff's evaluation of the information submitted by your letter of April 6,1995. A subsequent staff inspection determined that characteristics of the disposal area were different from that described in your original submittal of April 6,1995. By letter dated December 2,1996, you submitted supplemental information on the disposel site, and a revised analysis to the original 10 CFR 20.2002 application. -

r The staff has evaluated the supplemental information of December 2, 1996, and finds that it does not alter our original conclusion that the calculated doses appear reasonable, are a small percentage of 10 CFR Part 20 public dose limits, and conform to the requirements set forth in 10 CFR 20.2002.

Therefore, the supplemental information of December 2, 1996, is deceptable to the staff. You are requested to incorporate the supplemental information into your Radiological Process Control Program. 1 ,
