SUBJECT:

REP 0F'" No. 50-160/83-01 On August 9-12, 1983 Mr. W. W. Peery conducted an NRC inspection of health physics activities at the Georgia Tech Nuclear Research Center under NRC license No. R-97. This inspection did not include the state license for the use of Co-60 or other sources around our hot cells and elsewhere.

The one violation (severity level V) involving a container that was not labeled properly as required by 10 CFR 20.203 (f) (2) was reported.

This violation was corrected in the presence of the inspector. Subsequently on September 19, 1983 this violation was brought to the attention of the Radiation Protection Committee at its regular meeting and noted in the minutes. All Office of Radiological Safety personnel were advised to take more care in labeling such containers in the future.
