Attached for your review and approval are proposed Technical Specification (TS) changes revising the Limiting Conditions For Operation, Surveillance Requirements, and Bases for the Arkansas Nuclear One - Unit I (ANO-1) Emergency Feedwater (EFW) System. The proposed changes extend tLe allowable outage time for one inoperable train of EFW from 36 hours4.166667e-4 days <br />0.01 hours <br />5.952381e-5 weeks <br />1.3698e-5 months <br /> to 72 hours8.333333e-4 days <br />0.02 hours <br />1.190476e-4 weeks <br />2.7396e-5 months <br />, clarify the specifications and their associated Bases, and relocate information to more appropriate sections. The changes are in accordance with the requirements for EFW set forth in NUREG 1430 " Restructured Standard Technical Specifications for B & W Plants" Revision 0 issued September 1992, and have been modified to correspond to the existing ANO-1 TS format and plant specific construction.

The proposed changes have been evaluated in accordance with 10CFR50.91(a)(1) using criteria in 10CFR50.92(c) and it has been determined that these changes involve no significant hazards considerations. The bases for this determination are included in the attached submittal.

Entergy Operations requests that the efTective date for this change be within 30 days following NRC approval to allow sufficient time to implement procedure revisions required as a result of the amendment. Although this request is neither exigent nor emergency, your prompt review is requested.
