Limerick Generating Station, Units 1 and 2 Changes to National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Permit Gentlemen:

This letter is being submitted in accordance with the Limerick Generating Station (LGS),

Units 1 and 2, Environmental Protection Plan (EPP) Section 3.2, which stipulates that the NRC shall be notified within 30 days following the date of approval of a change to the l National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit.

By letter dated February 17, 1994, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental i Resources (PA DER) approved our request extending the period for continuously -

discharging 450 gpm of make-up water from the Perkiomen Creek Storage Tank to Possum Hollow Run through Outfall 020 as a method of providing freeze protection for the Perkiomen Creek Storage Tank. This extension will expire on April 30,1995, or upon ,

renewal of NPDES Permit PA0051926, whichever occurs first. A copy of the PA DER j letter approving this permit change is attached. The NRC was previously notified of our  !

request to extend the period for continuously discharging the make-up water by letter j dated January 27,1994. l l
