Gentlement Beaver Valley Power Station, Unit No. 2, Technical Specification 6.2.3.2 requires the Independent Safety Evaluation Group (ISEG) to be composed of at least.five dedicated full-time engineers located i' on site. On May 31, one of the five current Beaver Valley ISEG personnel will retire. Duquesne Light-is actively pursuing an ISEG-replacement to maintain five permanent personnel on site. However, the company's job bidding and selection procesa nay.not be able to be completed by June 1. The delay is due to-implementation of recent changes to the Beaver Valley Unit No. 2 Technical Specification requirements for ISEG personnel qualifications and the associated company job description revision. An ISEG replacement should be provided within 90 days of the retirement of an ISEG Engineer on May 31.
Since the ISEG provides no. daily line function for the. safe 1 operation of Beaver Valley Units 1 and 2 and a permanent replacement is being actively pursued, Duquesne Light believes that there will be no violation of Beaver Valley Unit No. .2 Technical Specifications, similar to periodic changes in other organizations identified in the Administrative Controls Section No. 6 of the Technical Specifications.
