Reference:

TVA letter to NRC dated June 12, 1989, "Sequoyah Nuclear Plant (SQN) 'NRC Bulletin 89-01: failure of Westinghouse Steam Generator Tube Mechanical Plugs"  ;

As required by SQN Technics 1 Specification 4.4.5.5.a. this submittal provides notification of steam generator tube plugging during the Unit 1 Cycle 4 refueling outage, The in-service inspection was completed on April 27, 1990.

TVA will submit a special report of the results of this inspection on or L before April- 27, 1991.

Enclosure 1. cont < ins a' summary of the tubes plugged in Unit I during this outage. Additionally, 79 Westinghouse Electric Corpration plugs were removed and replaced with Combuttion Engineering Inc., Inconel 690 plugs as a result of NRC Bulletin 89-Ol' requirements. Enclosure 2 provides the status of the remaining Westinghouse plugs in both Units 'I and 2. This enclosure op u es Table I that was submitted in the referenced letter, for your information, the total number of tubes currently plugged in Unit 1 is provided in p[-- Enclosure 3.
