the Spring 1990 Mid-Cycle Mainte'- Outage'at PNPS. The examinations listed are a port. 1 of those presented in our submittal of

                       -the Second Ten-Year Interval Inservice Inspection Program (ISI), Revision 3, for PNPS,. dated 12/12/86. Acceptance of the Pilgrim ISI Program is documented by NRC letter and Safety Evaluation, dated 9/28/88 (TAC 64377). In the event some of the exams listed in the enclosed Tables 1 and 2 cannot be completed during this mid-cycle outage, they will be rescheduled for the ISI plan to be
                       .provided prior to the start of RF0 8 presently scheduled.for 1991.

l Augmented inspections include 3 IGSCC Category /, welds to be examined using- ' Generic Letter 88-01 (NUREG-0313, Rev. 2) criteria, one of which (10R-IA-5) L will' be examined using the criteria of NRC Bulletin 88-08, Supplement 3: Thermal Stresses in Piping Connected to Reactor Coolant Systems.
