Response to 11. Bulletin 81--02, Supplement 1, " Failure of Gate Type Valves to Close Against Differential Pressure" This letter is written in response to Reference (d) above, concerning certain gate valves that failed to fully close under conditions that approximated those of their intended service.

It has been determined that Vermont Yankee does not have an-; of the affected valves installed or maldained as spares for installation where they would be required to cicae with differential pressure across them in safety-related systems.

The following information is submitted in response to your request for estimates of manpower expended in the research and sub-sequent performance of actions associated with this bulletin.
