Dear Mr. Martin:
This letter documents the May 8, 1981 telephone conversation between you and Mr. J. R. Himmelwright of my staff concerning the above referenced Inspection Report. _
The Inspection Report lists seven (7). Apparent Items of Noncompliance (Appendix A) and five (5) Significant Cbservations (Appendix B) . The due date in the Report for the Appendix A response is May 18, 1981 (twenty five days from date of the Notice), and for Appendix B, May 27, 1981 (thirty days from date of receipt of the letter). It was noted by Mr. Himmelwright that the magnitude of the total corporate effort required in addressing the findings wonld make it very difficult to develope a complete response by the May 18 and 27,1981 due dates. A July 1, 1981 due date was therefore requested and concurred with by the NRC for responses to both Appendix A and Appendix B.
