Response to IE Bulletin 81-02, " Failure of Gate Type Valves to Close Against Differential Pressure" This letter is written in response to reference (b) above, concerning certain gate valves that failed to ful.ly close under conditions that approximated those of their intended service.
Following a careful review, it has been determined that Ver=ont Yankee does not have any of the affected valves installed or =aintained as spares for installation where they would be required to close with a differential pressure across them in safety-related systems.
