need not be repeated here. 4 4-O Consumers Power desires to conduct the operating

. license hearing on such a schedule and in such a manner that the hearings do not become a pacing item for the start up of the plant, if ultimately authorized by the NRC. The inter-jection of TMI - Related Contentions after publication of the l Safety 2 valuation Report could unnecessarily lengthen the i

hearing schedule and therefore this potential issue should be resolved as quickly as possible.

In view of the extensive, publicly.available infor-mation relating to TMI and TMI -- related modifications to .

nucle'ar power plants, Consumers Power believes that any TMI - Related Contentions'are now untimely. Consumers Power-supports :the Staff's motion and hereby requests , pursuant to 10 C.F.R. - 52.718,- that the Board clarify its remarks concerning TMI - Related Contentions and order the intervenors to-file any TMI - Related Contentions no later than July 15,-1981.

Thereaf ter other parties to the operating license proceeding may respond and a ruling on such contentions issue.
