' Gentlemen:
The Cleveland-Electric Illuminating' Company (CEI) pursuant to 10CFR50.12(a)(2)(v) hereby requests an extension of the time-period required by:ASME Section XI, IVA-6230 for the filing of PNPP's first In-Service Inspc.ction Summary Report. ASME Section XI, IVA-6230 requires-the Summary ;
Report to be filed with the NRC within 90 days of the completion of each refueling outage (due November 6, 1989). CEI requests a temporary one time extension to December 4, 1989. This extension is necessary to allow CEI
~
additional time for preparation and review following completion of our 1st refueling outage. This extension vill not present an undue risk to the public health or safety. All required Code examinations have been completed, '
reviewed and considered acceptable by the CEI Corporate Level III Examiner.
