Dear Mr. Simril:

On August 28, 2019, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Office of Investigations, initiated an Assist to Staff to obtain additional and clarifying information regarding the auxiliary feedwater pump oil bubbler.

The NRC completed the Assist to Staff and determined that there was no deliberate misconduct or willfulness. We plan no further investigative actions toward Duke Energy Corporation with regard to this matter. Should you have any questions concerning this letter, please contact us.
