Thanks for the articulate response. I like the end use phrases you picked for each, and I believe they can work on the revised license.

[External_Sender] RE: RE: PXB6.29 - Sweden Hi Steve, Ill look into this with our group. In the meantime, the end use for Nordion is All sources either enter the disposal stream, are stored in our pools, or the cobalt is recycled and for Studvik it is only disposal; would Export to Canada and Sweden, of Category 1 quantities of Co-60 (not to exceed 244.2 TBq per shipment), contained in sealed sources for final disposition, is authorized then under Nordion Disposal, Storage or Recycling and under Studsvik Disposal work for you. If final disposition doesnt work then maybe interim disposition as an alternative. Let me know your thoughts on that.

RE: RE: PXB6.29 - Sweden Hi Carl:

Joanne and I have been discussing the language to use on PXB6.29. Currently it reads:

Export to Canada, of Category 1 quantities of Co-60 (not to exceed 244.2 TBq per shipment), contained in sealed sources for use in medical teletherapy devices, is authorized.

I contend that statement in bold used to be correct when the license was a combined Import/export license, and the end use medical teletherapy devices described what happens in the US, not in Canada. Frankly, neither license was correct. Now that we issue export only licenses, the focus of the end use should be what Nordion and Studvisk (sp) do with the Category 1 quantities of Co-60, when exported under the license.

Carl:

My task for you is to select a phrase that describes what happens to these sources when AOS exports them to Canada (and now to Sweden too). We will reference it on the first page and in parentheses beneath their address in the second page. It might be disposition which addresses all forms of uses from disposal to re-use.

Let us know.

Thank you, Carl!

[External_Sender] RE: PXB6.29 - Sweden Hello Joanne, Studsvik will be an additional Ultimate Consignee for Cat 1 quantities - I have attached the consent request. I assumed I would be using the PXB6.29 license number - please let me know if thats not correct and I should be using the current license # of PXB6.28.

Thanks, Carl Tunnell Alpha-Omega Services, Inc.

PXB6.29 - Sweden Good Morning Carl, I am getting an early start on drafting your export license for PXB6.29.

Question, you have Studsvik Nuclear AB listed as an Ultimate Consignee on your application. Is Studsvik Nuclear AB shipping Category 1 quantities of Co-60? Assuming that you are shipping Category 1 quantities of Co-60 to Sweden, we will need a form 7 requesting consent.
