Exelon identified in Reference 2 that the License Renewal Application for Clinton Power Station, Unit 1 would be submitted in first quarter 2021 (i.e., January to March 2021 ). Exelon is continuing to assess the evolving economic and legislative environments that materially affect the viability of extended Clinton Power Station, Unit 1 operation. Exelon now plans to submit this application in first quarter 2024 (i.e. January to March 2024).

In accordance with Reference 3, the Clinton Power Station, Unit 1 full-power operating license expires on April 17, 2027.

The plan to submit this application in first quarter 2024, as stated above, satisfies the provisions of the exemption granted by the NRC in Reference 4, while maintaining the protections of the timely renewal provision in 10 CFR 2.109(b), and allowing sufficient time for NRC review of the renewal application.
