MCGUIRE NUCLEAR STATION, UNIT 2 - WITHDRAWAL OF AN AMENDMENT REQUEST (EPID NO. L-2018-LLA-0236)
Dear Mr. Ray:
By letter dated September 7, 2018 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML18254A182), you submitted an amendment for McGuire Nuclear Station (McGuire), Unit 2, Facility Operating License No. NPF-17. The proposed change would have modified the facility technical specifications (TS) to allow a one-time change to add a footnote to TS 4.2.2, "Control Rod Assemblies," to allow McGuire, Unit 2, to operate during cycle M2C26 with one less control rod (core location H-08), than required by TS. Subsequently, by letter dated September 28, 2018, you withdrew the amendment request.
The purpose of this letter is to advise that the above-cited application is being treated as withdrawn. Notice of Consideration of Issuance of the proposed amendment had not been published in the Federal Register. A Public Notice was published in the Charlotte Observer, located in Charlotte, North Carolina, on September 17 and 18, 2018, and published in the Herald Citizen, located in Huntersville, North Carolina on September 20, 2018. All comments were requested to be provided to the NRC by September 21, 2018. No comments were received.
