Dear Mr. Lacapra:

On June 25, 2018, members of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff met with you at 135 South Main Street and delivered a letter, dated June 20, 2018, entitled "Remediation and Forgoing of Licensing of 135 South Main Street, Thomaston, Connecticut." The NRC letter is available in the NRC Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) at Accession Number ML 18114A287.

This letter documents your receipt of the June 20, 2018, letter. The NRC staff discussed the terms and conditions contained in the letter. As discussed, provided those terms and conditions are met, the NRC will not require you to obtain a license. Prior to the discussion, NRC staff observed the affected areas of 135 South Main Street and confirmed that the controls you previously committed to (restricting or limiting access) remain in place. In accordance with the terms and conditions of the June 20, 2018 letter, the next milestone will be your submission of a remediation schedule and funding plan to the NRC. We respectfully request an estimate regarding when the schedule and plan will be submitted to the NRC. After submission of the initial schedule and plan, please promptly notify us of any changes and the basis for the change.
