TURBINE VALVE SURVEILLANCE INTERVAL REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION SALEM GENERATING STATION UNIT NOS. 1 AND 2 FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE NOS. DPR-70 AND DPR-75 DOCKET NOS. 50-272 AND 50-311 Public Service Electric and Gas (PSE&G) hereby provides the additional information requested in your letter of March 20, 1990. PSE&G is amending its license change request as indicated on Attachment 1.

PSE&G is adding direction to personnel if unacceptable flaws or excessive corrosion is found when inspecting valves in accordance with specification 4.3.4.2.d. This direction will require inspection of all valves of the type that were noted to be unsatisfactory. The definition of unacceptable flaws or excessive corrosion will be provided in the station implementing procedures.

The addition of this requirement does not affect the previously submitted significant hazards evaluation.
