FL 33408-0420 BAR 2 5 3999 PP'k L-99-077 10CFR Part 54, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Attn: Document Control Desk Washington, DC 20555 Re: Turkey Point Units 3 and 4 Docket Nos. 50-250 and 50-251 U dated Submittal Plan for License Renewal A lication The purpose of this letter is to inform the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and its staff of Florida Power and Light Company's (FPL) plans to submit a license renewal application for'Turkey Point Units 3 and 4 by the end of December 2000. FPL is encouraged by the progress of the NRC's review of the Calvert Cliffs and Oconee license renewal applications and believes that license renewal can be accomplished for Turkey Point in an economical and timely manner.

FPL would like to meet with the NRC staff to address the Turkey Point license renewal effort at the staff's convenience. In this meeting, FPL will discuss its plans for referencing some of the Westinghouse Owner's Group (WOG) aging management reports in its license renewal application. In addition, FPL would appreciate a discussion of the staffs perspective on the lessons learned from its review of the license renewal applications for the Calvert Cliffs and Oconee plants, including the usefulness of the formats used by Baltimore Gas 0 Electric Company and Duke Energy Corporation.

Should you have any questions concerning this letter, please contact Rajiv S. Kundalkar, Vice President, Nuclear Engineering at (561) 694-4848.
