Letter dated November 2, 2017, from A. Vegel, USNRC, to A. C. Heflin, WCNOC

Subject:

Docket No. 50-482: Request for Regulatory Conference (EA-17-149)

Mr. Groom:

The Reference transmitted Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Inspection Report 05000482/2017407 that documents a finding with an associated apparent violation that has preliminarily been determined to be of Greater than Green significance. The Reference provided Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation (WCNOC) the opportunity to attend a Regulatory Conference or submit our position to the NRC in writing.

WCNOC appreciates the opportunity to meet with the NRC on this issue. WCNOC accepts the finding, as well as the preliminary significance determination of the apparent violation.

However,' WCNOC would like the opportunity to present additional information related to the scope and status of its corrective action plan. Therefore, WCNOC respectfully requests a Regulatory Conference regarding the apparent violation. This request was also communicated verbally to Mr. Jeremy Groom on November 7, 2017.
