The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has published the following direct final rule and companion proposed rule in the Federal Register:

  • Title of the Direct Final Rule and Companion Proposed Rule: List of Approved Spent Fuel Storage Casks: Holtec International HI-STORM Flood/Wind Multipurpose Canister Storage System, Certificate of Compliance No. 1032, Amendment No. 3 [RIN 3150-AK03; NRC-2017-0089].
  • Description of the Direct Final Rule: This direct final rule amends Part 72 of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, List of approved spent fuel storage casks, by revising the Holtec International Flood/Wind Multipurpose Canister Storage System listing within the List of approved spent fuel storage casks to include Amendment No. 3 to Certificate of Compliance No. 1032.
  • Dates: The direct final rule will become effective 75 days after publication, unless a significant adverse comment is received.
  • This is not a major rule as defined by the Congressional Review Act.
