Subject:

Response to NRC Security Inspection Report 05000461/2014201

Reference:

Letter from Mr. Michael Layton (U. S. NRC) to Mr. Michael Pacilio (Exelon Generation Co.), "Clinton Power Station, Unit 1 - NRC Security Inspection Report 05000461/2014201 Preliminary Greater Than Green," dated July 29, 2014 In the referenced letter, the NRC documented a finding preliminarily determined to be greater than Green safety significance. The finding was identified during an inspection that covered one or more of the key attributes of the security cornerstone of the NRC's Reactor Oversight Process.

The referenced letter requested verbal and written notifications within 10 days of the date of the letter stating our intention to (1) attend a Regulatory-Conference to present to the NRC our perspective on the facts and assumptions the NRC used to arrive at the finding and assess its significance, or (2) submit our position on the finding to the NRC in writing. In follow-up to our phone call on August.7, 2014, which provided verbal notification of our intention to attend a Regulatory Conference on this matter, this letter provides written notification of the intention of Exelon Generation Company, LLC (EGC) to attend a Regulatory Conference regarding the preliminary greater than Green finding. During the Regulatory Conference, EGC intends to present information that supports the position that this proposed finding is not greater than Green. As requested, EGC will submit supporting documentation at least one week in advance of the Regulatory Conference.

If there are any questions or comments regarding this request, please contact Ms. Kathy Ann Baker, Regulatory Assurance Manager, at: (217) 937-2800.

Respectfully, B. Keith Taber Site Vice President Clinton Power Station
