REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION BEAVER VALLEY POWER STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 PROPOSED EXTENSION REQUEST REGARDING RESPONSE 2 TO MARCH 12, 2012, REQUEST FOR INFORMATION, ENCLOSURE 2, RECOMMENDATION 2.1, FLOOD HAZARD REEVALUATION REPORT DOCKET NOS. 50-313 AND 50-368 By letter dated March 12, 2012,1 the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued a request for information pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Section 50.54(f), regarding, in part, a flooding hazard revaluation report for Beaver Valley Power Station, Units 1 and 2 (BVPS). In that letter, the required response schedule for the flooding hazard revaluation report was specified to be in accordance with the NRCs prioritization plan, which corresponds to March 12, 2014, for BVPS. By letter dated December 17, 2013,2 FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC) requested NRC assistance to obtain information needed to complete the flooding hazard revaluation for BVPS from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). By letter dated March 11, 2014,3 FENOC requested an extension for the completion of the flooding hazard revaluation report based on the schedule to receive input information from the USACE. In FENOCs letter dated March 11, 2014, the licensee requested an extension for submission of the flood hazard reevaluation report to a date 180 days after the USACE information is received by the licensee. In order for the NRC staff to complete its review of the extension request, a response to the following request for additional information is requested.

1.) The NRC staff requests that FENOC provide a more detailed breakdown of the activities and analyses that remain to be conducted, as well as the associated schedule for those activities and analyses. The NRC staff suggests that a Gantt chart or similar format would be an effective means of communicating the schedule information.
