FORTHCOMING MEETING TO DISCUSS THE DRAFT SUPPLEMENTAL ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT FOR THE LICENSE RENEWAL OF BEAVER VALLEY POWER STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 DATE AND TIME: October 30, 2008 (Two identical sessions)

First session: 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. (as necessary)

Second session: 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. (as necessary)

LOCATION: Embassy Suites Pittsburgh-International Airport 550 Cherrington Parkway Pittsburgh, PA 15108 CATEGORY 3:* This is a Category 3 Meeting. The public is invited to participate in this meeting by providing comments and asking questions throughout the meeting.

PURPOSE: To meet with the public to receive comments on the draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (DSEIS) 36 to the Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants (NUREG-1437) for Beaver Valley Power Station, issued on September 23, 2008. The DSEIS is available on the NRC=s Website at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/doc-collections/nuregs/staff/sr1437/

supplement36/ and in the NRC=s publicly available Agencywide Document Access and Management System (ADAMS). The ADAMS Accession Number is ML082600147. See the enclosed agenda and Federal Register Notice 73 FR 55165.

The open house will provide members of the public with an opportunity to talk informally one-on-one with NRC staff. Members of the public may register to present oral comments at this meeting by contacting Emmanuel Sayoc, at (800) 368-5642, ext. 1924, or by e-mail at Emmanuel.Sayoc@nrc.gov by October 27, 2008. Those who wish to make comments may also register at the meeting within 15 minutes of the start of each session. Individual oral comments may be limited by the time available, depending on the number of persons who register.

If special equipment or accommodations are needed to attend or present information at the meeting, the need should be brought to the attention of Mr. Sayoc at 800-368-5642, ext. 1924 or via e-mail at Emmanuel.Sayoc@nrc.gov, no later than October 16, 2008, to provide the NRC staff adequate notice to determine whether the request can be accommodated.
