HATCH NUCLEAR PLANT - U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION PHYSICAL SECURITY INSPECTION REPORT 05000321/2019410 AND 05000366/2019410 On February 12, 2019, the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued the Security Inspection Report for the Edwin I. Hatch Nuclear Plant, ADAMS Accession Number ML19043A678. In reviewing this report, we identified several administrative errors that were generated through use of the newly implemented Inspection Sample Tracking and Reporting tool (ISTAR). Specifically, that the Subject and Manual Chapter referenced for Physical Security Inspections throughout the report is incorrect. We request that the cover letter and report be replaced with the Enclosures and Attachment to this letter.

SUMMARY

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) continued monitoring the licensees performance by conducting a Security Reports Inspection at Hatch Units 1 and 2 in accordance with the Reactor Oversight Process. The Reactor Oversight Process is the NRCs program for overseeing the safe operation of commercial nuclear power reactors. List of Findings and Violations No findings were identified.

INSPECTION SCOPE

Inspections were conducted using the appropriate portions of the inspection procedures (IPs) in effect at the beginning of the inspection unless otherwise noted. Samples were declared complete when the IP requirements most appropriate to the inspection activity were met consistent with Inspection Manual Chapter (IMC) 2201, Security Inspection Program for Commercial Nuclear Power Reactors. The inspectors reviewed selected procedures and records, observed activities, and interviewed personnel to assess licensee performance and compliance with Commission rules and regulations, license conditions, site procedures, and standards.
