PEACH BOTTOM ATOMIC POWER STATION, UNITS 2 AND 3 - SECURITY INSPECTION REPORT 05000277/2019410 AND 05000278/2019410

Dear Mr. Hanson:

On March 28, 2019, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) completed a security inspection at the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, Units 2 and 3 and discussed the results of this inspection with Mr. Matthew Herr, Plant Manager, and other members of your staff. The results of this inspection are documented in the enclosed report.

NRC inspectors did not identify any findings or violations of more than minor significance.

This letter and the enclosed report will be made available for public inspection and copying at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html and at the NRCs Public Document Room in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390, Public Inspections, Exemptions, Requests for Withholding.

SUMMARY

The NRC continued monitoring Exelons performance at the Peach Bottom Atomic Power

Station, Units 2 and 3, by conducting the baseline security inspections described in this report in accordance with the Reactor Oversight Process. The Reactor Oversight Process is the NRCs program for overseeing the safe operation of commercial nuclear power reactors. No findings or more-than-minor violations were identified.

INSPECTION SCOPE

Unless otherwise noted, baseline security inspections were conducted in accordance with the appropriate portions of the inspection procedures (IPs) in effect at the beginning of the inspection. Samples were declared complete when the IP requirements most appropriate to the inspection activity were met consistent with Inspection Manual Chapter 2201, Security Inspection Program for Commercial Nuclear Power Reactors. The inspectors reviewed selected procedures and records, observed activities, and interviewed personnel to assess licensee performance and compliance with Commission rules and regulations, license conditions, site procedures, and standards. The inspectors verified the licensees Protected Area Security Equipment Performance Index submittals for the period from 1st quarter 2018 through 4th quarter

On March 28, 2019, the inspectors presented the inspection results to Mr. Matthew Herr, Plant Manager, and other members of the licensees staff.
