April 28, 1988. We have reviewed your reply and also held a conference  ;

] telephone call on August 17, 1988, between you and Mr. T. Bauer of your ,

organization and Messrs. B. Murray, W. Seidle, and H. Chaney of this office to ,

j clarify your anticipated schedule of events for the defueling of the TRIGA  !

,

Mark I reactor and startup of the TRIGA Mark II reactor. As we discussed i

> during the August 17, 1988, telephone call, one of our main concerns is your [

development of written procedures associated with the defueling and transfer of ,

fuel for the Mark I reactor, and the startup and operation of the Mark II  !

] reactor. You informed us that the addition of a professional health physicist ,

j to your staff did not materialize as you anticipated and the date for filling '

this position is unknown. Also, you informed us that current problems in 1 obtaining a shipping cask for the TRIGA fuel and construction activities may cause a significant schedule slippage in all sross.

i During the conference call, it was agreed Mr. Seidle would be the NRC Region IV '

point of contac Furthermore, you agreed to inform Mr. Seidle of any changes j in the schedule of activities referenced in NRC Inspection Report 50-602/88-04.
