NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY OF THE DRAFT PLANT-SPECIFIC SUPPLEMENT 53 TO THE GENERIC ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT FOR LICENSE RENEWAL OF NUCLEAR PLANTS REGARDING SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2

Dear Mr. Mueller:

Enclosed are two printed copies and two CDs of the draft Supplement 53 to NUREG-1437, "Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants," regarding the license renewal of Sequoyah Nuclear Plant (SQN), Units 1 and 2.

The draft Supplement 53 to NUREG-1437 was submitted to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) via e-NEPA on August 8, 2014. In addition, a copy of this document is being mailed or e-mailed to interested Federal and State agencies, industry organizations, interest groups, and members of the public. A copy of this document has also been placed in the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission's (NRC) Public Document Room, One White Flint North, 11555 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Maryland 20852, and in the NRC Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible on the NRC's website at http://www.nrc.gov/readingrm/adams.html. The acce ssion number for draft Supplement 53 to NUREG-1437 is ML14211A454. Please note that the public comment period for this document ends on September 29, 2014.
