EDO REPORT: WEEK ENDING OCTOBER 31,1980 1.
Briefing before Congressional Staff on Indian Point IE briefed Congressional staff members on the secuence of events and the progress of our investigation at Indian Point.
IE also informed them of the November 5,1980 public meeting being held near the site and stated that IE would provide a copy of the transcript for their infomation.
2.
Legislation on Resident Insoectors EDO met with IE this week to discuss legislation relevant to granting relief to resident inspectors.
ED0's recomendations will be forwarded to the '
Comission by December 1,1980.
3.
LOFT Review Group Work is proceeding on the development of the LOFT review group.
D. Ross of NRR has been appointed Chairman, with R. Bernero, RES and B. Sheron, NRR as members from. staff; an IE member is to be named.
It is the staff's intent to solicit membership from OSTP, ERA, DOE and NASA.

Suoplemental EIS: Sumer Nuclear Power Plant First draft of the supplement to the Sumer EIS is due to Denton in early November. This will be the first EIS which addresses the Class 9 accident consequences. The staff plans to brief the Comission during November. -
5.
Observations Made During Visits to Forefon Reactors During a recent trip to reactors in West Gemany, France, and Finland, Mr. Denton noted that:
a.
Control room displays were better than ours.
b.
The activity levels in their primary coolant were less than U.S.
c.
General housekeeping around the plants was better and may be due to the attitude of their operators.

1980. Dr. Murley, RES, will attend as NRC representative.

MOU on Radiological Emercency Plans and Preparedness The MOU on Radiological Emergency Plans and Preparedness was signed by W. Dircks and sent to Frank Cam for FEMA signature.
