November 6, 2020 Mr. Bryan C. Hanson Senior Vice President Exelon Generation Company, LLC President and Chief Nuclear Officer Exelon Nuclear 4300 Winfield Road Warrenville, IL 60555

SUBJECT:

CALVERT CLIFFS NUCLEAR POWER PLANT, UNIT 2 - WITHDRAWAL OF PROPOSED ALTERNATIVE TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE ASME OM CODE (EPID L-2020-LLR-0090)

Dear Mr. Hanson:

By letter dated June 30, 2020 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML20182A162), Exelon Generation Company, LLC (Exelon) submitted a request to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission for the use of an alternative to certain American Society of Mechanical Engineers Code for Operation and Maintenance of Nuclear Power Plants (ASME OM Code), Division 1, Section IST (Inservice Testing) requirements at Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant, Unit 2. Specifically, Exelon proposed a one-time extension to the 2-year supplemental position indication testing frequency for nine containment isolation valves in lieu of the ASME OM Code requirement, as conditioned by Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations 50.55a(b)(3)(xi), to verify that valve operation is accurately indicated.

Subsequently, by letter dated October 29, 2020 (ADAMS Accession No. ML20303A271), Exelon withdrew the amendment request. The purpose of this letter is to advise that the above-cited request is being treated as withdrawn.

If you have any questions, please contact me at (301) 415-2871 or by e-mail to Michael.Marshall@nrc.gov.

Sincerely,

/RA/
