Dear Matthew Efseaff:
As requested by Best Theratronics application dated December 7, 2021 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML21349A093), enclosed is Certificate of Compliance No. 9290, Revision No. 9, for the Model No. F-430/GC-40 Transport Package. Changes made to the enclosed certificate are indicated by vertical lines in the margin. The staffs safety evaluation report is also enclosed. This approval constitutes authority to use the package for shipment of radioactive material and for the package to be shipped in accordance with the provisions of Title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations (49 CFR) 173.471. Those on the attached list have been registered as users of the package under the general license provisions of 10 CFR 71.17 or 49 CFR 173.471.

SUMMARY
By application December 7, 2021 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML21349A093), Best Theratronics (Best) requested renewal of Certificate of Compliance No. 9290 for the Model No. F-430/GC-40 Transport Package. Best did not request any changes to the package design or authorized contents. Also, Best did not request any changes to the current operating procedures, acceptance tests, and maintenance programs.
Based on the information provided in the application, the staff concludes that the Model No.
F-430/GC-40 Transport Package continues to meet the requirements of 10 CFR Part 71.
CONDITIONS
In addition to editorial changes, the following changes have been made to the Certificate:
Condition No. 8 was removed since the package is not authorized to transport fissile material.
Condition No. 9 was renumbered and revised to authorize continued use of the previous revision until expiration of Revision No. 8 on February 28, 2022.
Condition No. 10 was renumbered and revised to reflect the new expiration date.
The References section was revised to refer supplement requesting renewal.
CONCLUSION
The certificate has been renewed for a 5-year term that expires on February 28, 2027. Based on the statements and representations in the application, the staff finds the package continues to meet the requirements of 10 CFR Part 71.
