SAFETY EVALUATION REPORT

EVALUATION
By letter dated June 24, 2022, (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System
[ADAMS] Accession No. ML22217A036), the U.S. Department of Energy, Division of Naval Reactors requested the renewal of Certificate of Compliance No. 9792 for the Model No.
Model 1 D1G Core Basket-Thermal Shield Shipping and Storage Container package.
The applicant did not request any changes to the package design, operating procedures, acceptance tests, or maintenance program of the package. Renewal of the certificate does not affect the ability of the package to meet the requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Part 71. The certificate has been renewed for an additional 5 years.
CONDITIONS
Condition No. 9 was revised to reflect the new expiration date of January 31, 2028.
The REFERENCES section was revised to include the date of the letter requesting package renewal.
CONCLUSION
The certificate has been renewed for a 5-year term. These changes do not affect the ability of the package to meet the requirements of 10 CFR Part 71.
