SUBJECT:

ROUTE RE-APPROVAL APPLICATION (U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION ROUTE NO. 231A), DOCKET NUMBER: 070-07011

Dear Mr. Hunt:

I am responding to your letter dated March 27, 2023, which requested that the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) re-approve Truck Route No. 231A. Route No. 231A is used for transporting spent nuclear fuel.

The NRC has reviewed your application and concluded that the information you provided dated March 27, 2023, satisfies the requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 73.37. The approved route is designated as Truck Route No. 231B and will expire August 30, 2028. The NRC expects your periodic review and update of the emergency telephone numbers associated with this route. Changes to emergency contact numbers do not qualify as a route deviation or change.

If you have questions on this route approval or require additional information, please contact Mr.

Devonte Hinton at (301) 415-3490 or via electronic mail at Devonte.Hinton@nrc.gov.
