Dear DFM Director,

In accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding between our agencies, I request that you review the attached United Kingdom Certificate of Approval No. GB/3516A/AF-96, Rev 4, for the 3516A Uranic Materials Container package and make a recommendation concerning our revalidation of the package for import and export use.

On April 8, 2014 I requested that your office review the Certificate of Approval No.

GB/3516A/AF-85, Issue 3 for this package. Your review (Docket No. 71-3056, TAC No. L24913) concluded with a September 10, 2014 letter to me which recommended revalidation of the certificate.

Enclosed is a copy of the May 2, 2022 letter from our applicant, Westinghouse Electric Company LLC, which discusses the changes since your last review. Revision 4 of the U.K.

certificate includes some minor changes to the content enrichment levels, but no significant changes to the package design.

To assist you in your review, a copy of the package design safety report for the 3516A package, along with other supporting documents will be provided to your staff electronically.

If you have any questions or need any additional safety information, please feel free to contact Michael Conroy of my staff at (202) 366-3597 or via email at Michael.Conroy@dot.gov.

Sincerely, Richard Digitally signed by Richard Boyle Boyle Date: 2022.05.12 15:57:50 -04'00' Richard W. Boyle, Radioactive Materials Division of Sciences and Engineering Office of Hazardous Materials Safety Enclosures
