Monthly Operating Report, December, 1981 Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station Enclosed are ten copies of the Monthly Operating Report for Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station Unit 1 for the month of December, 1981.

The Monthly Operating Report has been revised to reflect changes made to the Maximum Dependable Capacity (MDC) and cumulative data. We have decided to use a summer rating for MDC (starting January, 1981) instead of the winter rating that had been reported since the summer rating was obtained during the most res-trictive seasonal conditions. Also, Items 19-23 on the Operating Data Report were based on our declaration of commercial operation at 25% full power. We ._

would like these values to reflect commercir.1 operation at 100% full power on July 31, 1978. Ta be consistent with this change, the cumulative data of Items 11-18, which started at initial criticality, were re-zeroed and started again on July 31, 1978. These chan;es vere revised on the reports from January 1981 through the present (see attached revisions). If you would like revised reports prior to 1981 showing the changes in the cumulative data, please call Bilal Saraour at (419) 259-5000, Extension 384.

The Gray Book incorrectly indicates that Davis-Besse uses the date of first elec-trical generation instead of commercial operation for our cumulative data (memor-anda section). Could you please correct this in the future Gray Books.
