IRONWORKERS fTRIKE Ironworkers from the Kankakee, Illinois local went on strike May 11, 1977. Pickets were posted at about 6:00 a.m. and other crafts are honoring the picket line. The ironworkers contract expired April 20, 1977, and the strike concerns wages and work rules.
Negotiatiotis are in progress but duration of the strike is unknown.
Braidwood Unit I construction is about 13% complete and Unit 2 about 10% complete.
