QUALITY ASSURANCE PROGRAM APPROVAL FOR RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL PACKAGES NO. 0030, REVISION 9
Dear Mr. Grogan:
Enclosed is the revised Form 311, Quality Assurance Program (QAP) Approval for Radioactive Material Packages No. 0030, Revision No. 9 (Approval), in response to your request for a revision to your QAP dated September 18, 2019, Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML20072H336. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff held a clarification call with General Atomics on a change in their revised QAP on June 26, 2020 (ADAMS Accession No. ML20191A214) to support the review of your submittal.
The enclosed Form 311 documents the staff approval of your revised QAP to satisfy the requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 71.17(b) and 71.101(c).
Termination of your materials license does not cause this approval to be automatically terminated. If you wish to amend this approval and have determined it reduces commitment, or would like to terminate this approval, please request it in writing.
This letter also serves as a reminder that if you are using or planning to use an NRC-approved package, you must be registered for use of that package with the NRC. Registration for use of NRC-approved packages should be made pursuant to 10 CFR 71.17(c)(3).
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its enclosure will be made available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the NRCs ADAMS, accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html.
