The purpose of this letter is to certify that the Virgil C. Summer Nuclear.

Station ~(VCSNS) has developed a Fitness-for-Duty Program that. meets the L'. requirements published in 10CFR26. The VCSNS Program will.be put;into effect on January 3, 1990, 1
- South Carolina Electric & Gas Company (SCE&G) is committed to maintaining a ;
drug-free environment at VCSNS. As such, the VCSNS: Program includes testing.
'for three: substances in addition to-those specified in 10CFR26. These
-substances and=their cut.-off levels will be:

- 1). . Barbiturates - 200 ng/ml !
- 2) .Benzodiazepines - 300 ng/ml
.,4 3) ' Methaqualone'- 750 ng/mi.
Also,-SCE&G' management:has decided that it'would be reasona'ble and prudent'to-1 slower the cut-off level for Cannabinoids from 100 ng/m1, as required in.
v (10CFR26..to 50 ng/ml. This lower sensitivity level will aid in the detection of '! casual" abuse.of the drug.
