We have examined GSU's commitments relative to the Port Hudson National Battlefield included in your letter of April 28, 1980. As stated in your letter, these commitments were discussed between members of my staff and GSU representatives on April 23, 1980. We agree that the commitments made by GSU will avoid any adverse impact Icf thc proposed project on any archaeological remains at this National Historic Landmark site.

Furthermore, this area will be flagged prior to clearing and all clear-in6 within the flagged area vill be by hand-operated s equipment such as ehnin cava. All trees will be cut 12" ribove ernde and roljed trees will be dracced frem the area for dinpooni.
