REQUEST FOR A HEARING SUBMITTED WITH RESPECT TO THE NOTICE OF ACCEPTANCE OF THE APPLICATION FOR RENEWAL OF FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE, AND NOTICE OF OPPORTUNITY FOR HEARING, FOR DAVIS-BESSE NUCLEAR POWER STATION, UNIT 1, DOCKET NO. 50-346-LR The Office of the Secretary received via E-Filing a request for a hearing and petition to intervene. The petition was submitted by Beyond Nuclear, Citizens Environmental Alliance of Southwestern Ontario, Dont Waste Michigan, and Green Party of Ohio.
The request was submitted in response to a notice by the NRC staff that provided an opportunity for a hearing on renewal of the operating license which authorizes Firstenergy Nuclear Operating Companys Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station, Unit 1 to operate for an additional 20-year period beyond the period specified in the current license. The Notice of an Opportunity for a Hearing was published in the Federal Register at 75 Fed. Reg. 65528, October 25, 2010.
In ADAMS, the request consists of two packages. The primary package (ML110070537) consists of the Petition to Intervene and supporting declarations. The second package (ML110060763) contains Exhibits that support the Petition.
This hearing request and supporting documents are being referred to you for appropriate action in accordance with 10 C.F.R. §2.346(i). This referral is being served on the E-Filing service list for the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station, Unit 1 proceeding as well as those on the cc: list below.
