| Title | Agreement State Report - Accident During Source Transport |
| Event Description | The following was received from the North Dakota Department of Health via phone:
A vehicle transporting a 300 mCi Cs-137 (Eckert & Ziegler Model Cs7.P03, SN CZ110) well logging source overturned when returning from a coal mine back to the storage facility. The source remained in the travel case in the vehicle. There was no fire nor injuries. The radiation safety officer arrived approximately 40 minutes after the incident and surveyed the case. No additional radiation above background was detected. The source was transported to Bismarck and a leak test performed. They are still awaiting the results. |
