SAVE THE DATE: NRC Public Meeting to Discuss Options for Proceeding with Level 3 PRA Activities - 3/21

Gentlemen, As you may recall from our earlier conversations, I am serving as the Project Manager for a new Comprehensive Site Level 3 PRA Scoping Study being conducted by the Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research Division of Risk Analysis, with support from staff assigned to various NRC program offices.

I spoke with each of you about your availability to participate in a public meeting we are planning to conduct at NRC Headquarters because, in the staff requirements memorandum (SRM) that prompted this scoping study, the Commission stated that the "staff should continue their internal coordination efforts and engage external stakeholders in formulating a plan and scope for future actions." We believe your participation, or participation by someone on your behalf, in this public meeting is critical to ensuring key stakeholder views are expressed and addressed as we develop our plan and recommendation to the Commission for proceeding with a site Level 3 PRA pilot study.

The public meeting has been scheduled for Monday, March 21, 2011 from 1:00p.m. - 4:00p.m.,

and will be held in room 6-B01 of the NRC Headquarters Complex Church Street Building, located at 21 Church Street, Rockville, MD 20850.

A meeting agenda and supporting materials are forthcoming, and will be posted to the NRC's Public Meeting Schedule website. Please let me know if you have any questions or if you need any additional information.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration. I hope to see each of you at the meeting!

Best regards, Dan Hudson Daniel W. Hudson Technical Assistant U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research Division of Risk Analysis Daniel.Hudson@nrc.gov 301-251-7919
