In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 50.4(b)(6) and 10 CFR 50.71(e), enclosed for Watts Bar Nuclear Plant (WBN) is Amendment 5 of the dual-unit Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR).

In accordance with Regulatory Issue Summ ary (RIS) 2015-17, Review and Submission of Updates to Final Safety Analysis Reports, Emergency Preparedness Documents, and Fire Protection Documents, TVA is submitting a redacted copy of Amendment 5 UFSAR for NRC Public Use (Enclosure 1) and the Non-Public Use version (Enclosure 2) that contains security related information that should be withheld from public disclosure in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390.

A brief description and summary of the 10 CFR 50.59 safety evaluations of changes, tests, and experiments, reportable pursuant to 10 CFR 50.59 is being submitted under separate cover letter.

There are no regulatory commitment changes to be submitted in accordance with Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) 99-04, "Guidelines for Managing NRC Commitment Changes."

There are no new regulatory commitments associated with this submittal. Please direct any questions concerning this matter to Jonathan Johnson, Site Licensing Manager, at jtjoh nsonO@tva.gov.
